Taking out the Listed Festival Of Racing 1000 (1000m) on debut on March 7th, Ready For Victory mustered a huge turn of foot in the final straight at Rosehill Gardens to run on for fourth in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m).
Having returned to the paddock after failing to handle the heavy going and seventh in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on Day 1 of The Championships, Ready For Victory will be partnered by Mark Zahra on Saturday.
Danny O’Brien remains confident Ragazzo Del Corsa is up to the standard of a Group 1 feature race this campaign, and has confirmed the three-year-old in the 2015 McNeil Stakes final field.
Posting a win and a minor through only four competitive starts, the Stratum colt clearly needed the run when returning this time for seventh in the Vain Stakes and will need some luck in running on Saturday if to figure from barrier 10.
