The final field and barrier draw has been released for the 2013 edition of the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m), with undefeated filly Miracles Of Life set to make her return in the race at Caulfield this Saturday.
Miracles Of Life was one of the major stories of the 2012/2103 racing season after she came from a $34,000 two-year-olds race at Morphettville in Adelaide to win the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
The daughter of Not A Single Doubt recorded a five and a half lengths victory on debut and scored a dominant nine lengths victory at Morphettville over 1050 metres.
She made the step up in class to record another ultra-impressive win in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) at Caulfield before stamping her name in racing history with her famous victory in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) during the 2013 Melbourne Festival Of Racing.
Miracles Of Life has impressed since returning from a lengthy stint in the spelling paddock and will go into her first-up assignment with a barrier trial victory under her belt.
The three-year-old will clash with a number of other undefeated gallopers including the Tony Vasil-trained Prince Harada.
Prince Harada has been considered a leading contender for the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) since his victory in the Alternate Railway Handicap (1200m) at Moonee Valley on June 15 and has even been included in the nominations for the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m).
While Miracles Of Life and Prince Harada are both undefeated, Fast ‘N’ Rocking heads into the McNeil Stakes still chasing his first race win but has been well respected in McNeil Stakes betting markets.
The Fastnet Rock colt was a good thing beaten in the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m), when he was blocked for a run in the final stages of the race, which extended his losing streak to eight straight races.
Despite his poor winning record, Fast ‘N’ Rocking is a quality colt who will be looking to turn-the-tables on Miracles Of Life after he finished second in the Blue Diamond Stakes earlier this year.
Other notable McNeil Stakes acceptors include: Peter Moody-trained duo Thermal Current and Il Cavallo, and the undefeated trio of Pyrrolic, Orion and Za Moulin Rouge.
